The World of
Harpsichord
- a tribute to the brilliant instrument.

There is no doubt that every instrument has its rights in the musical world. And, though it has been wrongly forgotten in the last couple of centuries (thanks to the violently growing piano's popularity), nowadays the harpsichord is beginning to claim himself once again on the worldwide musical arena. Wide musical society has finally made an effort to rise this matchless instrument from the dust of centuries. An instrument, that had such stunning success in its time (though it was competing with clavichord back in the days). Amazingly enough, the harpsichord is on the verge of its musical rebirth right now. This is the consequence of its touching, brilliant sound, its unique, delicate and exquisite timbre, its rich sound palette. Many 20th century composers, such as Schnitke (who used the harpsichord in his Concerto grosso), had given its antique sound a new, modern edge. In spite of all this renaissance, there is still quite a gap in information on this topic in the Worldwide Web. Willing to eliminate this error, I've made it my aim to gather fairly extensive information on harpsichord and present it widely to the Internet society. Hope that you will appreciate my diligence and hard work and enjoy the contents of this site.
I believe that there could be some points that I've missed, while creating this site. If you have interesting ideas or some useful information (texts, sound files, images, notes, etc.), I would be thankful if you could send it to me via e-mail (feel free to send me files with attendant letter and a personal photo, that way I would know, whom I should express my gratitude). Everyone, who is willing to help me in developing this site, will be honoured on the site's hall of fame section. You can also leave your wishes, suggestions and comments in the site's guestbook..
